In addition, we interviewed officials from the Privy Council Office, Treasury Secretariat and Foreign Affairs Canada to identify and better understand the key government processes and mechanisms available to ensure accountability for results as soon as the agreements are in place. Ancestry is any set of agreements legally related to the fact that they modify, replace, expand or otherwise constitute agreements that have a legal relationship. The line concept – and the search for lines based on knowledge of an ancestry agreement – is intended to help scientists and practitioners identify the legal development of a problematic area in a way that is generally not easily identifiable. 1.12 Management challenges. Governments around the world face the challenge of managing an increasingly complex entity of international environmental agreements. According to other national monitoring services, the evaluation of the implementation, compliance and effectiveness of these agreements is complex and often problematic. Despite their growing importance, little is known about the implementation and compliance of these agreements by many countries. In other cases, the contract may involve WHO (ten incidents) or any other health organization (three incidents) without prescribing effective collaboration with them. This is illustrated by the 1999 Water and Health Protocol, relating to the Convention on the Protection of Cross-Border Rivers, which contains a provision that says: “The quality of drinking water provided taking into account World Health Organization guidelines for the quality of drinking water.” We find that the likelihood of finding a provision for cooperation with WHO is higher in treaties involving high-income and developing countries. 1.120 The three departments responsible for implementing the five agreements we reviewed – Environment Canada, Transport Canada and Fisheries and Oceans Canada – unanimously stated that their pen-level responsibility was clearly defined and delegated. These include responsibility for setting performance expectations, monitoring and reporting, and verifying performance and taking the necessary steps to ensure that the results and results of environmental agreements are achieved.
This category and subcategory are intended to cover all agreements relating to all forms of pollution, whether they concern air, land, ocean or freshwater systems at the regional or global level. The coding terms used for INCLUSION are: 1.39 What we looked at. We wanted to know if Environment Canada knew the extent to which Canada was able to target the consumption of hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs) and methyl bromide.
